Detailed instructions for draining your EdgeStar dehumidifier can be found in the user manual that was packaged with your unit. Certain units can be drained continuously with a gravity drain hose routed to a floor drain, other models include a built in pump to drain the unit. All EdgeStar dehumidifier units can be drained manually by following the same basic steps.
If the water bucket on your dehumidifier has reached its maximum capacity, the unit will automatically shut-off to avoid overflowing. A ‘water full’ indicator, error code or alarm may sound – refer to your user manual for specifics on your particular model. In order to continue operating the dehumidifier, the water bucket will need to be drained.
To manually empty the water bucket to drain your dehumidifier:
- Locate the water bucket on the lower front of the dehumidifier
- Slowly and carefully remove the bucket and pour the water out.
- Reinstall the bucket. Please note that if not reinstalled properly, the unit will not operate.
Please Note: Do NOT place the bucket on the floor or counter. The bottom is uneven and has a tendency to tip over if placed on a flat surface.
